Michael Jackson Dies 26th June 2009

The world wakes up today to the news that the self-styled “King of Pop” Michael Jackson died yesterday of what is believed to be a cardiac arrest in Los Angeles. The 50 year-old singer was one of the must successful musicians of the 20th Century, and the albums "Off The Wall", "Thriller", and "Bad" effectively sountracked the late 1970s and early 1980s, selling 100s of millions of copies across the globe. His fame came at a price, and his personal life was never far away from the spotlight-but what will be remembered by generations to come is the music and the extraordinary performances. His producer Quincy Jones commented that “To this day that music is played in every corner of the world, and the reason is because he had it all - talent, grace and professionalism.”
