Unleash The Bats!

No-its not an Ozzy Osborne convention-its a new initiative to tackle music piracy....more info below

"If you're a musician, singer, songwriter or composer / creator of any type of distributable creative works or someone whose income is dependent on revenue streams from creative works then you'll be only too aware of the struggles facing you in trying to make or sustain a living from your art / artists.

Part of the problem is the disregard or lack of understanding which many people have for those who deserve payment as the owner / creator of copyrighted works and their ill conceived notion that music, books and films should be "free".

For years the most prolific facilitator of copyright infringement has been The Pirate Bay . Contrary to popular belief The Pirate Bay are not a "Doing it for the kids" type of organisation. They are a well oiled commercial and political enterprise making very considerable sums of money through advertising and merchandise by encouraging, promoting and facilitating copyright infringement and stealing potential revenue from you. Even more alarming is the fact that they now have an elected representative in the European Parliament who will campaign doggedly to further undermine and erode the rights of those involved in the creative industries.

Elected representatives, legislative bodies and ISP’s have collectively failed in their half hearted attempts to stem the destruction of your principal revenue stream. They have effectively sat on their hands gazing in wonderment at, and extolling the virtues of, internet accessibility and ever faster broadband download speeds - funding the very technology that is destroying our industries and paying mere lip service to warning after warning about how the creative industries are being decimated.

The real human costs of their inaction can now be seen with many thousands of jobs lost across the music and retail industries,

Enough is enough!!

We are calling on musicians, songwriters, publishers, managers, studios, labels, distributors and retailers to take a stand.
